A Beekeeper's Daughter at Heart
Amidst a year of isolation and uncertainty, reconnecting with one another offers a path to healing, resilience, and the restoration of our shared human spirit.
"The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members." ~Coretta Scott King
Loneliness has been sewn into the fabric of the conscious collective over the past year. It feels as if fear and uncertainty have divided us, paralyzing our ability to allow space for meaningful connections.
This emotional state has fractured our shared sense of spirit.
Being disconnected from one another over time manifests as physical and mental pain. Our amygdalas have been busy sending out signals of stress and inflammation - biomarkers like C-reactive proteins, interleukin 6, and cortisol - which correlate with disease.
It’s time to course-correct. To be tender and help one another recover.
I look to the natural world when searching for answers. Nature has the innate ability to pivot, adapt, and navigate back to balance when met with environmental challenges. Animals, in particular, are a beautiful reflection of this resiliency.
Honeybees are amazing communal creatures. They’ve always held a special place in my heart; my father is a beekeeper. That’s given me the opportunity to learn about and observe them up close.
The bee has become a totem for my life. When it appears with frequency, I pay attention.
Honeybees live and work in a harmonious community where they look out for and defend one another. Each one plays an integral part in keeping the hive healthy so it can flourish. Their love language is mindful service, their instinct telling them that they’re stronger together.
A honeycomb represents the Heart Chakra and life's sweetness. The pollination process symbolizes our social nature; it highlights the fragile interconnectivity of us all. When in sync, we’re able to enjoy the divine nectar of our shared efforts and wisdom. It binds us.
Being immersed in community is part of our human experience. Supporting one another. Contributing our individual gifts to raise the standards of the whole. This is where we thrive.
The energy exchange that happens when we’re connected offers a powerful elixir for the soul. And a salve to help heal our lonesome hearts.
How can you be in service of the collective healing process?
